A trail ride was organized for the other
side of the hills, (the flats) which ended
with a minor mishap (a broken foot and
severe embarrassment from doing a wheelie
gone
wrong). Some
minor damage to the bike but was very
repairable. Before this though, the
traversed many known trails and tracks in
the area which everyone was enjoying. Once
the accident happened, we had to organize a
ride for the injured Jason to get medical
treatment. While this was happening. Shane
(our committee member) went back to the oval
to start setting up things for the
show’n
shine, |

VMX issue
No.23 saw a 3 page spread which was very
rewarding for the organisers who worked hard
to make this a shining success. |

We had 34 in attendance, with 2 of them
being sidecars. 1 of these 2 had
competed in many 24hr endurance trials
which relies on the reliability of the
machine and occupants to maintain it
with what they started with. Their best
result was a 3rd in the open
sidecar class.
This
year was the 1st time we had
sort sponsorship, and Yamaha Pitmans
came on board. This helped cover some of
our ever increasing costs. Tony from
Barossa Photo Company also helped by
awarding a photo shoot of the best
presented bike on the day. Gary Hage won
this with his immaculately restored 1980
XT500G.
