For 2010, the event is being held in September as it will be a little cooler for the 2 rides requiring registration or a permitted bike. This year, we will be back at the Bethany Reserve again, for both days, Saturday, the start of the road ride and Sunday, for the “Show ’n’ Display” day.

We are basing the event around Tanunda as this makes it more convenient for us and the interstate guests and those wishing to stay for the weekend. A map showing the location of the sites is attached below.

RIDE DAY - SATURDAY

For this year’s ride day, we have 2 different rides to choose from. The first will be on a sealed road, and the second will be on dirt roads. You will need a registered bike or a permit on the bike for either of these rides. Unfortunately, there will be no track ride as the local club isn’t running an event on that weekend this year. (We did try though).

This year the sealed road ride will be run by John Gersch and will be leaving at 10.30am from the Bethany reserve. It will be a follow the leader type run through the hills with a couple of stops at various locations including a stop for lunch. Please start with a full tank of fuel as the first fuel stop will be at around the 70-80km mark and the ride will be approx 250kms finishing

around 4-4.30pm. For further details, call John on 0427 621 052.

Shane Kraft is organising a dirt road ride which will head over the hills and down the flats again. He will be using a different course with a stop for lunch at 1 of the local refreshment establishments in the area. This will also be a follow the leader type ride and be approx 250kms.

The start time for this ride will be 9am sharp.

SATURDAY EVENING

Last year saw us going to the Tanunda Club for what was a great social outing that everyone that attended enjoyed. With that in mind, we will be going there again as the social atmosphere is quiet and friendly and great meals to boot, Anyone wishing to reserve their place now, can RSVP to Kevin Steinert on 0419 825 851 or email to tag64@bigpond.com or by the start of the bitumen ride so that numbers can be confirmed as booking is usually essential.

SHOW & DISPLAY - SUNDAY

On Sunday at the Bethany Reserve, the festivities will start around 10.30am with the bikes being on display on the oval for everyone to see. Judging will take place throughout the day with awards to be given out from about 2.00pm. This is to allow the long distance travellers to leave soon after if so desired.

The awards come in many categories ranging from best 30th anniversary TT and XT, (this year being the “G”), to best Modified, Barossa Photo Company’s chose which is kindly donated by Tony Tervoert, most original unrestored TT and XT, even a Bitsa award for the most mixed up bike (so to speak). We even look at who has travelled the longest distance don’t miss out. There are even prizes for them. We are planning on increasing the number of awards for new categories so that there will be, even more winners and grinners.

The Angaston Scout group will once again help out with the catering, so there will be lots of food and drinks (of the non alcoholic variety) on sale. Or those of you who like a bit of a drink, you will need to supply that yourself. Don’t forget a chair as there is very limited seating available.

We will once again have event hats, stickers and beer steins for purchase at value prices, and of course, we will be running our monster raffle as it is a crowd pleaser.  We will be getting some stubbie coolers back on the merchandise list as they have been missing for a while now. Further details on this day, contact Gary Hage on 0402 777 807. This will be drawn straight after the awards have been given out. It pays to hang around for that

This is an ideal time to make a holiday of it and enjoy the local festivities as well as tour the local wineries form the boutique to the major ones such as Yalumba, Wolf Blass and Penfolds, just to name a couple of the larger ones. There are many smaller ones that are really worth a look at as they offer some beautiful wines as well.

Bethany Reserve will be the 2010 Muster Venue for both days see map, day 1 being the start and finish for both road rides, and Day 2 static show and display.
